The Proposed Percentage of Income Plan
The F.A.Q provided in the attached link is an explanation of new proposed Presbytery Percent of Income formula and method used to obtain the information for developing the percent of income for each church in the Presbytery. This proposed method of meeting the Presbytery’s financial requirements will be voted on at our next Presbytery meeting.
No longer based on member count
Studies found that “per member asking” was no longer a viable marker. Percentage of budget takes into account most variables.
Not mandated
Remember, this is not a tax, nor is it a requirement. We hope you will support the work at the presbytery level as we work to support you at the local church level.
Percentage of Income not Total Budget
The determining figure would be based on your operational budget, not your total budget.
Transition timing
The plan is to phase the new percentage plan in 2024.
Note: This year’s percentage may have to be adjusted in future years to accommodate ongoing and new presbytery expenses.
The Proposed 2024 Presbytery Budget
This PROPOSED budget has been developed to meet all the operational and missional requirements of the Presbytery and will provide the resources in order for Presbytery to operate effectively and efficiently.
